IN DEPTH

"In The Reggae Spotlight" is pleased to profile DJ extraordinaire REDD CAT. With his debut single “Sexy Girls” hitting the streets and receiving ‘nuff love’ from New York stations like 106.1 WBLI, Party 105.3 WXXP, 90.1 WUSB, and 93.5 WRTN, Redd Cat has become an instant force in the NY reggae scene. Sexy Girls is so hot that it has even been featured on the Universal Records compilation "Ragga Killa Show" mixed by DJ Cut Killer in France. In July of 2002, Redd appeared live on Steve and Maria’s morning show on 106.1 WBLI to promote his new album. Red Cat currently performs live at New York spots such as Webster Hall, The 56th Fighter Group, Club Flanagan’s, Mulcahy’s, District, The Post Office, Flynn’s, Molly Blooms, Mustang Sally’s, Goodfellows, Planet Dublin, Harbor’s Gate, and even the prestigious “Seacrets” in Ocean City Maryland. In addition, he has also performed on the same bill as Reggae artist’s Tanto Metro & Devonte, Sasha, and pop artist Dj Sammy.

*For 2004 Redd is working with some of the heaviest hitters in the reggae industry including John "Raf" Allen (Super Cat, Shaggy) and Jah Life (Beenie Man, Barrington Levy) so keep your ears to the streets for the latest tunes. Redd Cat
