Born: Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago,
W.I. on May 8th. 1951.
Toured: U.S.A. Canada, and the Caribean.

Experience: Sparks, Blue Veils, Black Truth Rythim
Band, Man of Culture, Mattocks Inter-
national, Spice Roots, Techno Dread and
Rogue, to name a few.
Opened for: Pato Banton, Wailers, Yellow-
man, Third World, UB40, Black Uhuru and
Inner Circle.

Education: Herbert Lehman School of Performing
Arts Bronx, New York. Majored in Percussion.

Instruments: Drums, Bass, Keys and vocals.

Hobbies: Reading and writing.

"In The Reggae Spotlight" is pleased to profile drummer extraordinaire ASHO JENI!
Asho comes to us from beautifull Trinidad. He has embraced the art of Reggae music and placed his distinctive mark on it. Playing Reggae music has not been without struggle for Asho! As a Trinidadian he was expected to play Soca music. There were those who would challenge him about this. His love for the music and his determination have kept Asho in the business all these years. His strength and musical ability are an asset to the group and as a founding member of "Techno Dread" he has seen the growth of the band as well as the struggles to make the music heard. Asho continues to make our sound uniquely ours. "Techno Dread" marches bravely forward to the beat of Asho"s drums.
